We had an amazing time getting to know all of the family and friends and these two are blessed to have such a great group of people surrounding them. Check back soon to see the whole wedding!

You know, in a way, I am thankful that it is so normal for you to be such a great husband and father that we CAN take it for granted. It is not a “once in a while” thing for you to make us all laugh, be encouraging, or surprise us with bringing home cupcakes. :) You always show us how much you love us. For that, I am the luckiest woman in the world. God must really love me to bless me with someone like you.

Happy Father’s Day Chavvon, we love you!!

Their wedding at Timarron Country Club in Southlake fit their personalities perfectly.  They day went practically flawlessly and Bri & Josh have a great group of family and friends surrounding them.  We really had a good time getting to know everyone.  The wedding was lots of fun with the guests staying on the dance floor ALL.NIGHT.LONG!  The pictures tell it all!

It was so hard cutting this blog post down to a reasonable number of pictures!  They’re all so good!  Here are our favorites from the day!

Everyone knows how hot Texas summers can be, so we were praying for a break in the heat.  As soon as the ceremony was scheduled to start, a perfect set of clouds rolled in and cooled things off nicely!  We couldn’t have asked for better weather.

Katie & Dan must be living right because we had exactly 2.5 hours this morning to complete our photo session before the storms came rolling through! Here’s a sneak peek from the day with many more to come!

As we heard from all the friends and family close to Eric and Anna Lisa through-out the day, the common theme among everyone is that Eric and Anna Lisa knew what they were looking for. Not just anyone would do, and they were patient in finding that exactly perfect person for each of them. It shows through their love for each other. When they’re in each other’s presence, the atmosphere oozes with love…lol It was great getting to know these two over the last few months and we know they’re going to have a wonderful life together.

OK. So we’ve been looking for a nice macro lens for a long time. Nikon has some great lenses like the 105mm VR 2.8 and the 60mm 2.8, but we felt like that was a little too much money to wrap up in a lens that’s only used a few times as each wedding. We’d much rather spend that on the 24mm 1.4 or the 35mm 1.4 (We’re waiting patiently Nikon!!).

We did lots of research and started hearing about the 55mm 3.5 and 2.8. They’re old lenses, like 30 years old, so I was a little hesitant. I looked online for about a week and found some really nice pictures produced by this lens. Even though it’s manual focus, I went ahead and found one to order after a little searching.

When this lens arrived, you would swear that it was the latest, greatest offering from Nikon…lol. It was like Christmas! We mounted this lens on our D700 and it was pure magic. The bokeh is amazing, resolution is great and I’d say it’s one of the sharpest lenses we own now. That’s saying a lot against the 85mm 1.4, 28-70, and Sigma 50mm 1.4 just to name a few. Here’s a pic of the lens and some images we took with it!! These are really small flowers and buds so this is at super magnification. It’s truly a macro with close to 1:1 or 1:2 magnification. Btw, the camera metering and focus indicator both work great!

Jennifer and Alex had to wait for two and a half weeks to see each other before the wedding weekend! Alex is in the Army, and has been in San Antonio while Jennifer has been in Arizona. They did not get to see each other until the day before the wedding which made the weekend even more special.

Mansion at Judges Hill almost has a french quarters appeal to it and Jennifer’s dress matched it perfectly. The intricate molding, hand crafted windows, and southern style furniture set the mood for a union that all the friends and family describe as “perfect”. The wedding was small and intimate to allow Jennifer and Alex to spend time with the family and friends that are closest to them. The Bride’s sister, Kathy, and the groom’s brother, Danny, were the complete wedding party so it gave us plenty of time to take pictures after the wedding.

You have no idea how hard it was keeping this blog entry below 100 pictures! We have so many great pictures from this wedding, but here are some of our favorites. The rest will be going into a beautiful leather album that will last a lifetime!

When we first heard from Emily and Tyler, which was only a couple months ago, we were so excited that they just wanted a beautifully simple wedding, and they were not into formal shots as far as the photography. They are so in love, and they wanted the day to be about just that, love. No huge, gaudy flower arrangements, no special lighting packages, just two people in love. With help from friends and family, they were able to pull this day together in just a few months! They wanted us to capture the day, which was so simply beautiful!

I must say, we really did enjoy this wedding. From the relaxed jam session in the men’s bathroom where the “fellas” were getting ready, to the young, contemporary pastor who gave the most practical and inspiring words, and even the little ring bearer who was so disappointed when he found out that the rings on the pillow were fake, this wedding just “felt” so good. Tyler is a singer/guitar player, and all of the musicians at the wedding and reception were his friends. How nice is that! When I asked if they do many weddings, they said that this was their first one! The music was perfect for the day, and they did a really great job!

What a great day, it really was nice to be a part of it. :)
