A new lens: Sigma 50mm 1.4 – Dallas Wedding Photography

I’ve been debating between the Sigma and Nikon 50mm 1.4 on my D700 for a few months and finally decided to get a hold of both of them before I made a decision. We did a wedding a couple of weeks ago in Los Cabos, Mexico and I got a chance to use the Nikon 50mm 1.4G. (For all you tech heads, I’ll do a technical comparison in the near future). In a nutshell, I wasn’t overly excited about the lens. I then went ahead and purchased the Sigma 50mm 1.4 and I’ve been more than happy with the results. Here are a couple of pics taken from a photo shoot this past weekend. thoughts?

Kim + Mark Engagement Shoot! | Wedding Photographer

Kim and Mark are engaged!! These two met at the dog park, so it was only appropriate to include the dogs as part of the engagement shoot. We loved Roary’s shaggy hair and Little Man’s cute little face! Look for the bridal and wedding pics soon!

Heather’s Deep Ellum Bridal Shoot | Dallas Texas Wedding Photographer

We had a wonderful time shooting heather’s bridal shoot. She’s married now (congratulations!) so we can finally show her beautiful bridals. She was open to a lot of ideas and we got some traditional and cool/artsy shots as well. We were so excited to get the opportunity to do some more edgy photography, so we went to Deep Ellum for half of the shoot, then went to Turtle Creek for some more traditional shots. We can’t wait until we post Heather’s wedding pics!

Forbeyon Guest Book – Wedding Album

We just picked up a book from Forbeyon that we turned into a guest book, and it looks amazing! We took our photo pages and made the book first. Then we created a guest page layout and added it to the book with about 30% transparency. See pics below….

Ashley Johnson Bridal Shoot – Dallas Wedding Photography

The Dallas Arboretum is one of our favorite spots to do a bridal shoot! There are so many beautiful gardens, fountains, benches… well, I could go on and on! The wind was really fighting us on this day… but it all worked out! They turned out great… and the wind was even a cool effect on her veil on some of the pictures!

Heather & Bert Engagements | Dallas Wedding Photographer

We had a wonderful time with Heather & Bert! We went to Main St., Grapevine to get some pictures for their engagment shoot. The weather was wonderful and we had a good time. We can’t wait until the wedding in April!

Heather’s Laugh is addictive, and her bubbly personality brings out the soft side of Bert. We really wanted to capture these two in the moment, just having a good time!
