This entire experience began with a meeting where we sat down and met with Kimberly and her Mom. We were big fans of hers from that very first moment and we were super excited to be picked to shoot their wedding! The wedding ceremony was held at Samuel Lynne Gallerieswhich was an excellent back drop for the occasion. We love every detail Kimberly & Clint put together for this wedding…..all the way down to the donut bar to wrap up the reception!

The wedding was held at the wonderful Piazza in the Village in Colleyville and everything was amazing. The Piazza staff, the decor, the cakes, ALL OF IT! With this couple & this venue, taking beautiful pictures was easy ;) The reception was one of my all time favorites! Bre & Kyle’s friends and family are tons of fun and the reception pictures show it…lol. We took some really great pics!

We’re going to miss spending time with Kyle & Breanne but we hope to see them again when they start their own family :)

We tried to limit the number of favorites, but we have so many! Congratulations!

After getting outfits together, making the boys stop playing in the dirt, fixing everyone’s hair, numerous threats to cut-out the head stands “You’re messing up you hair!” and countless other things, we’re very happy with the our pics!!

The pictures of the kids were taken by both of us, the family pictures were taken with a tripod and a remote, and the pics of just the two of us were taken by Baby Jae (Our 10 year old girl!) She’s a natural as you can see, it’s in her genes :)

Most of Shreeti’s family lives in England so we’re quite excited that we have a place to stay if we ever visit London! We really enjoyed being a part of this special wedding and we LOVE Shreeti & Jon’s pictures.

Alyssia initially contacted us last year and three snow storms later….here they are! I’m so glad we waited because the weather was wonderful. Alyssia & Eric are getting married in the wonderful Hawaii so we won’t be there…..(sigh) :)

We’re going to start things off with the wonderful wedding of Brandi & Jason! They were married at the Freedom Life Chapel which was very special to these two so it made the wedding day just perfect! The reception was held at the Royal Affairs Ballroom in Lewisville, Texas.

We had a great time with these two on their wedding day and things turned out amazing!! Congratulations!

We were wrapping up Breanne & Kyle’s wedding and came across these two pictures as they were driving away from the Piazza in the Village in Colleyville. We just love them!

We absolutely love spending time as a family and nothing is better than getting some unexpected time together on a snow day. It was cold yesterday (and today), like super cold!!! The wind chill was -6 degrees but the kids insisted on going outside to play. It didn’t last long, but we had a really good time playing on the hill outside the house.

Afterwards, we came inside and Larissa made everyone a wonderful breakfast. Take a few minutes and watch our morning!

That being said, who better to practice on than family!!! Tyrone is Larissa’s twin brother and he was in town with his wonderful wife Stephanie. You have to understand, they’ve been in England for 2-3 years and then they moved back to the states and ended up in San Francisco! This was a rare occasion to have them back home in Texas for TWO WEEKS!! They had a wonderful wedding in Greece that we were unable to make it to because at the time we had 3 small kids (2, 4 & 6). This is like a faux engagement session for us!…lol

We enjoyed taking out Tyrone & Stephanie on this cold, windy day. Miss you guys! See you soon!!

Oscar, a restaurant owner, and Louizza, a Harvard graduate in Anthropology who works on cancer research, both wanted their wedding to be in Mexico. Due to certain circumstances, that was not going to be possible. We think someone upstairs must really favor these two, because given the circumstances, they still had the most unbelievable wedding day. First, a convent that NEVER has weddings, (some nuns call it home now, they were watching the football game in the back, lol), let them come in on a Sunday to have their wedding, and believe me, they are the most beautiful grounds you have ever seen! Completely surrounded by trees, you would never know that this location is here.

Ok, let me share something with you. This little area where Louizza was getting ready was about 317 degrees. It was soooo hot!! Luckily, we had to crack a door open to breathe, and it let in the most beautiful light! Really, when I look at these pictures, I swear she must have been sweating powder because her skin looks flawless! So funny, I was probably as shiny and wet as a metal slide on the playground when it’s raining. LOL!

Yay!! Finally a “steal away” session!! We have been waiting for this!! It was a full moon, and we were on the lake. :)

Dan & Katie have a great relationship and you can tell how crazy Dan is about his girl!! It’s really great to be around :)

We try to not do marathon blog posts, but with this wedding, it’s impossible! They were married at the wonderful St. Jude Catholic Church and the reception was held at Fairview Farms, a unique rustic location oozing with creativity!!!

Bling..Bling!!

I know that we just said in the last entry that we hate to do marathon blogging, but you will have to excuse us on this one. This entry is only the portraits! This couple was amazing! Photogenic, genuine, fun, and LOVED to take pictures!! They gave us an entire hour and a half to take pictures of just the two of them after the ceremony! This doesn’t even include the portraits that we took during the “steal away session” at the reception!

Wow, wow, wow!! This location, a hidden convent in Dallas, had the most awesome corridor of trees with the BEST lighting!! We could have stayed there all evening!

They really wanted to stop at their favorite hangout in Dallas which is a cute pizza place called Eno’s.

Those cans were so LOUD!!! So funny!

Katie made this session so easy for us, with her gorgeous red hair (red heads always photograph well), and then to her tall, slender, model figure! She really wanted some classic bridal shots, nothing to contemporary or crazy, just classic, simple, and beautiful. One of our favorite places to go for this type of shoot is Arlington Hall in Dallas. What a great day, getting great shots, of a great girl! It was fun Katie!

With a beautiful bride, good looking groom, and a vintage car, it’s very hard not getting awesome pictures! Here’s one we like with many more to come soon!

Louizza & Oscar are getting married this weekend so we wanted to share their amazing engagement session! We took some time and wandered around downtown fort worth and the stockyards and had a great time with these two! We had a good time just getting to know these two and the weather was really nice. Blue skies & cool temperatures with a slight breeze….ahhh….I love Fall in Texas!

We took lots of great pics from this session, so we’re going to try something new and post them in a mosaic format. This will help us share more pics without scrolling down 20 times :) Let us know what you think!

So, what do you think it means if it is torrential downpours and flashflooding, and to go along with it, some tornado sirens? This couple is so genuine, and so in love, I’d say it means they don’t need any luck! We brought our “cute umbrellas” to get some cute rainy shots, but there was no chance of that! I must say though, for our first wedding with Tornado warnings and flooding, everything still turned out great, and through it all, Julie and Lance really remained calm and relaxed through the day.

Throughout the day it was obvious what 2 things were most important to the bride and groom, their love for each other and their love for God. So many friends and family to be a part of such a special day, and then the most awesome party to end the night! The reception was at the Adolphus in Dallas, with entertainment being provided by Signed, Sealed, and Delivered, an 8 piece live band. Chavvon and I decided that if we renew our vows in 5 years, (15 year anniversary), we are hiring this group! From 80′s songs to current music today, they were awesome!

What do you get when you have a bride, a groom, 10 bridesmaids, 7 house party guest, 10 groomsmen, and 300 friends and family? A big wedding day! Sorry for the long blog post everyone, it was just too hard to cut it back any more than I already did, we had so many great moments from this day! Congratulations Julie and Lance, it has been so wonderful getting to know you both!

8 piece band Signed, Sealed, and Delivered!

The band brought all of the props, hats, glasses, gold chains, etc. It really got everyone going! Hilarious!

We had a great time with Julie at the Dallas Arboretum taking her bridals! Really, when you have a beautiful bride, in a beautiful dress, in a gorgeous location like the Dallas Arboretum, there is no way not to get some great shots! Here are some of our favorites!

After a difficult loss, Kim and James decided to adopt a baby. In February of this year, they came to Chavvon and I and asked if we would do the pictures that they would provide to the adoption agency that provides the pictures of potential adopting families to the birth mothers. We were thrilled when they called and said their new baby was here, and we were so excited to do their baby pictures. Congratulations James and Kim, you are wonderful parents, and Levi is so blessed to have you! Here he is at 8 weeks old! What a great model!

Tracy and Jim got married at the Richardson Women’s Club, which by the way, despite its name, was very charming! We were so pleasantly surprised by the charm of this place, with creaky wood floors, gorgeous old lead bay windows, and the cutest antique furnishings. It really set the tone for the perfect intimate setting that the couple was wanting. Congratulations Tracy and Jim! Thanks for allowing us to be a part of it!

As photographers, we love “first look” sessions before a wedding. Believe me, I can understand why a bride would not want their future husband to see them before the ceremony, but as photographers we LOVE it! It allows us so much time to take some great shots of the bride and groom seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day, which we otherwise could not do. When we do a “first look” session, we can choose the location based on the best lighting, which enables us to get the best pics! Not to mention, we can get plenty of close-ups which we can not do during the ceremony. Now, I said all of that to say this, when Tracy and Jim said they wanted a “first look” session, we were really happy. :)

These girls were troopers! Chavvon and I wanted to get some shots by a small wooded area by the lake, so they walked through the grass with no shoes, that way no mud would get on their heels!! Thanks ladies!

By the way, if you didn’t notice, the father of the bride is also the pastor. So sweet. He did such a wonderful job, one of the best weddings I have ever heard.

The staff at Paradise Cove was awesome!!! They are some of the the most organized, and prepared venues we have ever worked at! They truly go above and beyond, for example, they brought the wedding party coctails to enjoy before and during the photographs.

One of our favorite moments of the day, was when we were with all of the ladies in the master bedroom getting the “getting ready” shots. Ari’s family is from Lithuania, and his parents do not speak English, so there was a language barrier between the families. It was inspiring to me to see, even without speaking to one another, the mothers of the bride and groom showing each other so much affection toward each other. Helping each other get ready, telling each other they look fantastic, hugging – it was so touching. Without saying a word, the groom’s mother was a big part of getting her new daughter-in-law ready to marry her son, and you could tell she was so happy that they were getting married.

We knew this house was going to be nice. The bride had told us just a few details of the home, and we were really excited about this wedding! As we rounded the corner and the house was in sight, we realized, we had no idea just how nice! We looked at each other and smiled, then went ahead and parked. We have been in some huge houses, but we have realized that just because a house is big, it does not mean that it will be decorated nicely or have an interior to match the exterior. Hoping that the interior was equally as beautiful as the outside, we walked to the front door and boy were we in for a surprise… it was better!! Antiques, chandeliers, and hand painted murals, gold moldings, stone floors, and magnificent furniture, this home was better than any venue anywhere!!

We had an amazing time getting to know all of the family and friends and these two are blessed to have such a great group of people surrounding them. Check back soon to see the whole wedding!

You know, in a way, I am thankful that it is so normal for you to be such a great husband and father that we CAN take it for granted. It is not a “once in a while” thing for you to make us all laugh, be encouraging, or surprise us with bringing home cupcakes. :) You always show us how much you love us. For that, I am the luckiest woman in the world. God must really love me to bless me with someone like you.

Happy Father’s Day Chavvon, we love you!!

Their wedding at Timarron Country Club in Southlake fit their personalities perfectly.  They day went practically flawlessly and Bri & Josh have a great group of family and friends surrounding them.  We really had a good time getting to know everyone.  The wedding was lots of fun with the guests staying on the dance floor ALL.NIGHT.LONG!  The pictures tell it all!

It was so hard cutting this blog post down to a reasonable number of pictures!  They’re all so good!  Here are our favorites from the day!

Everyone knows how hot Texas summers can be, so we were praying for a break in the heat.  As soon as the ceremony was scheduled to start, a perfect set of clouds rolled in and cooled things off nicely!  We couldn’t have asked for better weather.

Oh my goodness, to see Brayden’s robot! He is very serious about his moves, not cracking a smile while performing, but as soon as he is done….. CHEESE!!!!! During this session I learned a new trick from Jasmine ( Brayden’s mother) which I must say I do not know why we never thought of it before! We were trying to get Brayden to put his hand in his pocket, and he continued to give us that popular 2 year old answer of “no”. Plain and simple, “no”. Jasmine went to the car, got some money, put it in his pocket, and that was it!! He left his little hand in there just long enough to get a couple of perfect shots!!!

What a great time we had with them! Thanks Jasmine for calling us, we had so much fun with you two!

As we heard from all the friends and family close to Eric and Anna Lisa through-out the day, the common theme among everyone is that Eric and Anna Lisa knew what they were looking for. Not just anyone would do, and they were patient in finding that exactly perfect person for each of them. It shows through their love for each other. When they’re in each other’s presence, the atmosphere oozes with love…lol It was great getting to know these two over the last few months and we know they’re going to have a wonderful life together.
